Character Name: Leanne Corner Nickname(s): None. Don't you dare call her 'Lee' or something like that, though, she hates it. Age 17 Gender: Female Field: Trainer Kind: Human
Appearance: Leanne can be described as a light, fairy-like and summery looking person, due to her small, thin stature, pale skin, blonde hair and the amount of light colours she wears, a soft yellow being a favourite in her wardrobe as this colour suits her remarkably well.
Her face often looks bright and cheerful, a smile always on her face as much as possible, her brilliant green eyes shining at the world with a look of innocence, niavity and childish joy. She is lucky enough to have never had to try and tackle any acne, spots a rare sight on her carefully moisturised clear complexion. Leanne is pretty but not usually described as 'hot', possibly due to her being slightly shorter than average and looking several years younger than she actually is. She does not like this, especially when, every now and then, people mistake her for being as young as thirteen - mostly people think she is around fifteen, which she doesn't like either. Whenever someone guesses her age correctly, or even older (something which has only happened once or twice), she will feel more confident about herself. Since most people assume she is at least two years younger than she actually is, for the most part she does not feel confident about her appearance.
Her blonde hair is very well looked after, shining in the sunlight and maintaining a silky smooth texture. It lacks some volume, but this does not have a detrimental affect on Leanne's appearance, and so Leanne has never seen any need to take action against this. Possibly in an attempt to look her age, Leanne dyes pink streaks in her hair. This works very well, the dye being effective in the light coloured hair without any need of bleaching the hair. The pink colour isn't a bright pink, it is a slightly pale shade, and so does not stand out but adds to her hair.
Standing at 5'3", she is a little under average height for her age, as well as having a fast metabolism and a tiny appetite, as a result being very skinny, and finding it difficult to put on weight if needed. This can make her seem quite fragile, and while she does not bruise or generally get injured easily, she is not exactly strong or athletic, finding herself easily tired out and unable to lift heavy objects. She hopes that her Pokémon journey will help her with this, and suspects that her being easily tired out may be fall to being aneamic, which has not been proven but just in case she makes sure to eat a diet high in iron.
Leanne dresses sensibly; if it is warm, she will wear a T-shirt and shorts or a skirt (nothing too short, mind you; she's nowhere near to being a slut); and it if is cold, she will wear jackets and jumpers with jeans. She prefers wearing lighter colours since these suit her, keeping up with the fashion and having a love of the colour yellow. Most of the time, a necklace with a thin chain, often silver, with some sort of small charm on the end (sometimes a little silver Pokémon or Pokéball, other times a flower or a heart) rests around her neck, a slim watch is always on her wrist along with one or two bracelets, and earrings are worn most of the time by Leanne, occasionally matching her necklace. As for shoes, she loves stylish sandals and other light coloured strappy shoes as well as converses. She hates pumps and the like as she does not find them comfortable. Leanne does not wear hats very often, and wears a light brown satchell bag in which she carries her possessions.

History: Leanne was born to two proud parents, Susan and Ernie, the younger of two children; her older brother, Terry, was two year her senior. Her father worked in one of Celadon's tall office buildings, her mother only working part time caring for the plants and Pokémon at the gym after Terry was born so that she could spend more time with them as babies, but went back into working there full time when Leanne started school. Since their mother would work until after school finished, Leanne and Terry would walk round to the gym most days to help her care for the Pokémon. Neither of them showed much interest in the plants, but the two got on well with the Pokémon and enjoyed their company.
Leanne grew up surrounded by Pokémon, whether while spending time at the gym or with the Pokémon at home; her father had little interest in Pokémon but didn't mind having them around so long as they didn't get in his way. She and Terry would go off into the routes around the town often and would sometimes bring home injured Pokémon, or would find strays or birds that had fallen out of their nests. There would always be at least one Pokémon in their house. Being this close to Pokémon meant that Leanne and Terry set their minds to being trainers, this being the natural path for them to take. Their parents were both fine with this, happy to see that they seemed to have promise in training.
At school, Leanne was less happy than she was at home with the Pokémon. People took advantage of her kind and trusting personality, the caring nature she had developed from looking after Pokémon, and she struggled to tell the difference between a true friend and someone wanting something from her. She was bullied, too, for being a weirdo and largely just because she was to be disliked and no-one wanted to be seen being her friend unless it was to take advantage on her, or play some huge prank after gaining her trust. To make Leanne upset was to become popular and gain respect; to make her happy was to be as bad as she was.
The teachers were not good at identifying the bullying. They were aware that Leanne was not happy, but it was rare that they recognised someone actually hurting or insulting her. Because she felt that Pokémon were better friends to her than her classmates since they didn't judge and hate her to gain status, she would sometimes smuggle smaller Pokémon in. Budew and Caterpie in her pocket, Rattata in her bag that she would hide on her lap in class and pet for comfort or talk to (she always was able to get the idea of the feeling behind the Pokémon's speech but not what they were actually saying). Naturally, this was discovered every now and then, and met with severe punishment, the teachers thinking that she was a problem, failing to notice that she was just reacting to bullies.
When she moved on to secondary school, Leanne was determined that this would be a clean start and there would be no more bullies. She stopped bringing Pokémon to school and made a good impression on people, making a lot of friends straight away. The odd person would still take advantage of her, but she was in fact very popular as the bullies were gone and the people at this school saw no reason to dislike her. Sure, she was a little strange and very energetic and eccentric, but she wasn't mean and was always there for people. She was much happier at her new school, spending the rest of her childhood with people and Pokémon, her friends thinking it was quite interesting to see all the Pokémon she had at home and the ones her mother worked with at the gym.
When the time came for Leanne to leave on a journey, she surprised people by deciding to travel to Erinuki. She'd shown no interest in the place before, but she wanted somewhere new she knew nothing about to experience her Pokémon journey in.
