Audrey Mcbay Audrey had come to Erinuki for the same reason she traveled to any region: to explore, to gain knowledge and experience but most of all, to keep moving. Staying in any place for too long drove Audrey crazy. But this was the first time she had decided she didn’t want to continue her travels alone. The past year had been an amazing experience but it also made Audrey realize how much she missed the comfort of a companion. So once she heard about Hajime town and it’s famous lab she headed straight there. Although she hadn’t thought much about it before this, the prospect of having a companion to travel with, to help defend her and share experiences with her was very exciting.
Hiking her backpack more comfortably onto her shoulders, the light haired girl strolled down the path towards the lab. She had long since tucked her winter hoodie into the bottom of her bag since warm weather reigned over the current season. Audrey wondered fleetingly if she ought to be more dressed up for entering a lab but shrugged it off. People came here to get their Pokemon all the time didn’t they? They probably weren’t bothered with how someone was dressed. Besides, Audrey felt perfectly comfortable in her favourite white tank top and cargo pants. Approaching the door, the young girl lifted her hand and knocked with the back of her knuckles on the wooden panels. -ratatat- To her surprise, the door moved slightly at her touch, swinging a little way open. Was Hajime Lab’s door always unlocked or had someone forgotten to shut it properly? Either way, Audrey took the opportunity to let herself in.
“Hellooo?” she called out, peeking her head around the doorway, “anyone home?” The room seemed quite empty at the moment but there were several doors leading off into adjoining areas. Was it everyone’s day off or something? Audrey stepped into the lab, shutting the door behind her with her foot before wincing at the loud bang it made. She must have pushed it a little too hard. “I’m here for a Pokemon?” she added, her voice spiking into a question as she looked towards the doors, hoping for some answer or sign of life. None came. Was anyone here at all? Maybe the labs were closed today?
A few sheets on a nearby wall caught her attention and Audrey moved over towards the structure. They listed, she realized, the Pokemon available at the lab. She scanned the list with her dark eyes, occasionally pausing at one that piqued her interest. There were so many! How could she choose? Audrey knew nothing about Pokemon. She had no favourite type, no particular idea whether she wanted something strong or cute or intelligent. This was going to be harder than she thought.

[classy=split] [/classy] [classy=roundbox] The days had been dragging by, each muddling together into one never-ending day. The Professor didn't even do anything distinctive either, he just sat on his couch and watched clouds scuddle across the sky. Nilly and Lake had been popping out eggs as usual, those two love birds them. They stored them in the guest room, which was now starting to overflow with the eggs that they were secretly hoarding. They would just giggle when they placed another in the warm room. Soon enough, they would hatch and they'd have a butt load of Castform and Vanillite floating around the room. That would be exciting, wouldn't it? It definitely would brighten the Professor's life. A person had walked into the room and was calling out to a non-existant person. The Professor just rolled up to a sitting position and stood up. He stretched a little, a yawn escaping his mouth. He started to walk over to the door where the person must have entered. <"Hi there!"> he greeted, <"My name is Professor Kinkaze! I'm the professor around these parts."> The girl before him said she was here for a starter Pokemon. That was the Professor's specialty. <"Do you have a Pokemon in mind that you'd like? Otherwise, there's a list over here.."> he said, trailing off, his hand pointing to a laminated piece of paper on the wall. [/classy] [/style] Kinkaze

Audrey Mcbay
Audrey turned to face the sudden emergence of a new voice. A man who she could only assume was the professor, still seemed half asleep from a nap or something as he appeared from one of the doorways and introduced himself. The young girl nodded, smiling lightly. “Nice to meet you, Professor Kinkaze. I’m Audrey. Audrey Mcbay” As the man continued to speak, his hand pointing to the sheet of paper she had been looking at she smiled again, “yeah, I kinda figured.”
With the introductions over and done with Audrey turned back to the list. After a few moments of staring she decided she better just pick an get it the hell over with. Her slight fingers rose to rest on the paper gently. “If I may, can I see this one,” she said, her fingers wavering over a Piplup, “this one,” moving to brush an Eevee “and this one,” finally coming to rest on the dark blot that was a Murkrow. The light haired girl turned to face the professor once more, smiling crookedly as she dropped her hand to her side. “I’m not really sure what I want so I figure it’ll be easier if I see them in real life rather than on a sheet of paper”

[classy=split] [/classy] [classy=roundbox] The girl requested to see a few Pokemon; the Professor simply nodded at the choices, and walked back to the neon screen in the back. He tapped in some random places and out came three poke balls, all of which he opened up on the spot. The neon red light spewed into the room for a few seconds.
[pokemon=Eevee]black-white[/pokemon] The fox just gave a devillish glare at the girl. A few seconds later, the glare has been replaced with a calm face.
Short-Tempered

Audrey Mcbay Audrey shoved her hands in her pockets and leaned against the wall as Proffesor Kinkaze silently crossed the room and began tapping away on a keyboard somewhere. Funny, but Audrey expected the professor of a lab which handed out pokemon every day to be more talkative. Maybe at least handing out advice and such to new trainers… The young girl didn’t have much time to contemplate the quietness of the Hajime lab’s professor as a sudden, vivid red light captured the room, causing Audrey to squint her eyes as she pushed off from the wall, slowly approaching the gradually dimming red lights. The array of pokemon confused her at first, having never really been presented with so many at a time. To lessen the confusion she turned to look at each creature in turn. The small brown fox-like creature was blinking in her direction, switching between throwing cheeky looks and assuming a calm expression. What was this thing, bi-polar? It looked unstable. Moving her line of sight, Audrey’s dark eyes fell on the small blue penguin, remaining by the professor’s side as it looked calmly at her. The up-start trainer held its gaze for a few seconds before moving to observe the moving figure in her peripheral vision. A small dark blue bird was hopping steadily closer, it’s curious eyes alight with life. It let out a sweet cawing noise, tilting its head comically and ruffling its feathers slightly. Audrey couldn’t help the grin that crossed her face as she reached over to the Murkrow, first tentatively then more confidently stroking its feathers with the back of a finger. The bird moved closer in response. “No competition” she murmured, her crooked smile still on her face. She had thought this decision would be hard but it wasn’t at all. “This is my kinda bird, Professor” Audrey announced, looking sideways at the professor affably, “I’d like this one, please.”

[classy=split] [/classy] [classy=roundbox] As the Professor saw the reaction to each of the Pokemon on the girl's face, he himself let a grin slide up on his face. <"Splendid choice! Here's his Poke ball then!"> he said, handing the red and white sphere to the girl. <"You'll also need this."> he continued, handing a starter pack to the new owner of a Murkrow. The pack held a few Poke balls, some basic medicines and berries, and a PokeDex. <"Take care now, don't get into too much trouble right off the bat!"> he said in farewell to the girl he had only met a few minutes ago. Audrey returned the smile the professor gave her, glad to see him being more alert and interested in his attitude than his previous frosty disposition. She guessed it got boring having to give out Pokémon and advice novice trainers day after day. A hard, round object was pushed into the girls hand and she looked down at the red and white ball with a flicker of confusion in her eyes. Pokeball. Yes. She glanced at the Murkrow with a slight grin before pocketing the contraption. They could skip the pokeball for a while since Audrey felt the need to get to know her new companion. The bird, sensing it had changed hands, hopped closer, prompting Audrey to hold out her arm. The dark crow took the opportunity to climb up her limb and settle awkwardly on her head, sweeping her blonde hair in all directions. Audrey let out a half frustrated, half amused noise before accepting the backpack from the professor behind a curtain of hair. She waved an arm in his general direction as he called out his final farewells, swinging the backpack onto one shoulder since she was already carrying one. She’d sort out her items between the two later and probably keep one as a backup.
“I’ll do my best! Thanks for everything, Prof!” she laughed, turning to leave as her Murkrow came down from his nesting spot in her hair to settle on her shoulder, “Come on, Navy” The little bird gave a caw of recognition as the pair swung out of the lab into the bright sunlight.
